Fitness Soul has been running kettlebell classes in Leith since the beginning. Our coaches: Grant and Leszek,  between them have forgotten more about kettlebells than most people will ever know. And they will teach you everything from scratch, properly, safely, and without making you feel stupid for not knowing it already.

Why kettlebells and not something else

Every piece of gym equipment promises to change your body. Most of it collects dust within three months.

Kettlebells are different for one reason: they train the way your body actually moves.

Not isolated muscle groups. Not sitting down pushing a handle. Real movement, swinging, pressing, pulling, carrying; the kind your body was designed for and probably hasn’t done properly in years.

The results show up in real life. Carrying shopping without your back complaining. Climbing stairs without your knees protesting. Picking something up off the floor without that sharp intake of breath.

That’s what we’re building in this class. Strength that’s actually useful.

Why TRAIN WITH Kettlebells?​

Small groups. Never more than you’d fit comfortably around a kitchen table.

Grant or Craig leads the session. You’ll work on a small number of movements, not fifteen different exercises in a circuit, but two or three things done properly, with real attention to technique. That’s how you actually get stronger. That’s how you avoid getting hurt.

If you’ve never touched a kettlebell before, you start at the beginning. There’s no shame in that, everyone in the room did the same thing once. Grant will show you the movement, watch you do it, tell you what to adjust, and move you on when you’re ready.

If you’re already comfortable with kettlebells, you pick up a heavier one.

That’s the beauty of it. The class works for everyone because the weight is the variable, not the session.

Who: Over 18s. All abilities. Complete beginners especially welcome. 

What to bring: Just yourself. All kettlebells and equipment are provided. 

What to wear: Comfortable training clothes and flat-soled shoes — trainers with a lot of cushioning aren’t ideal for kettlebell work. Flat is better. 

Is there an advanced class? The class scales to you. Come with experience and use heavier weights. Come as a beginner and learn the foundations. Same session, different loads.
