Moving for a longer period of time gives us something more than just a workout. We challenge our bodies and minds. We learn that our body can do things we never thought are possible. We also learn to push past pain and exhaustion. We discover a whole new level of power.
When I (Joanna) completed my first sprint triathlon, I felt I was invincible (as I had to learn to swim to be able to complete it). That feeling spills into other areas of life. Then I was hungry for more. I did olympic distance, half ironman and then an Ironman (3.8k swim, 180k cycle, and a marathon). Now I am hungry for more. I am curious what else my body is capable of.
There is never too late to start or to learn new skills.
1.The task for today is to go long. Go for a little bit longer than last time!
Last week we said you can go for a long hike, cycle, swim, do two back to back classes at Fitness Soul or to combine two activites back to back!
For example, it could be 30 minutes run in the morning followed by 60 minutes class and a 60 minutes cycle in the evening. Try to keep your heart rate low especially if you are doing one long activity. Try breathing through your nose all the time.
Make sure you have water and food with you.
Go back to Day 6 to refresh WHY endurance is important
2. Drink Lots of Water! If you weigh 150 pounds (68kg), that would be 75 to 150 ounces ( 2.2 – 4.4 l ) of water a day. If you’re living in a hot climate and exercising a lot, you’d be on the higher end of that range. As a challenge and because you will be working out a lot, try to hit the top margin today!
3. Eat Greens! We haven’t finished with eating greens. Add them to every meal if you can.
4. If you decided to go for another day of SOCIAL MEDIA DETOXING, enjoy every moment.
